Solitaire is less a single game than a family of puzzles you play alone with a deck of cards. Build suits in classic Solitaire and FreeCell, organise runs in Spider, match pairs in Pyramid, chase rising and falling ranks in TriPeaks or dig out hidden cards in Yukon, Russian Solitaire and Alaska. Press Play now above for a game of classic Solitaire right on this page, no account needed; each variant’s own page has its game ready the same way. Every game has its own rules and, with a free account, its own leaderboard.

How to play

  1. Classic Solitaire (Klondike): build four foundations from Ace to King, alternating colours in the seven columns.
  2. Spider: organise two decks into complete King-to-Ace runs of the same suit, with one, two or four suits in solo play.
  3. FreeCell: all cards start visible, with four free cells to help you move them.
  4. Pyramid: match uncovered pairs that total 13; Kings go alone.
  5. TriPeaks: remove uncovered cards one rank above or below the waste, including King–Ace.
  6. Yukon, Russian and Alaska: every card is dealt and any face-up card moves with the cards on top of it. Yukon builds down in alternating colours, Russian down in suit, Alaska up or down in suit.

Example

For a familiar start, choose Classic Solitaire, the one most people already half know. For a shorter matching puzzle, try Pyramid; for quick chains of cards, TriPeaks; and for a game with no stock at all, where every card is on the table from the first move, Yukon.

Playing tip

Every variant offers solo practice with no account, plus online races against bots and players once you sign in. Opponents in a race receive the same deal, so nobody gets to blame the shuffle. Random deals are not guaranteed to have a solution, though, so now and then a lost game really is the cards’ fault, not yours.

Daily Solitaire

Play today’s classic Solitaire with one-card draws and three passes through the stock. Everyone receives the same deal, checked to have a solution under these rules.
