Create & Invite

Open a private room, copy the invite link, and the duel starts as soon as you are both ready. No queue, no stranger, and nobody but each other to blame when one of you demands a rematch.

Open Friends Room

Joining the Same Table

Create the private room first, then share its full invitation link. Your friend opens that link and signs in with their own account. The general lobby and Online Matchmaking will not find your private room for them: those routes can lead to a different table entirely. Check that both names appear in the same room before you start. Spades Duel has two seats, so all you need is one friend, rather than a partner and two opponents as in four-player Spades.

If the invitation no longer opens the intended room, create a fresh private room and share its new link. Keep the rules and scoring guides handy for your first match, especially if your friend only knows the four-player game: here each player builds a 13-card hand from the stock before bidding, and each bid is an individual contract with nobody to cover it.

Best Use Cases

  • Practise your bidding against someone whose habits you already know.
  • Play a set of rematches as a warm-up before ranked.
  • Replay the same matchup until the endgames start to feel familiar.

Check that both friends joined the same duel

One friend creates a private duel and shares that room’s current invitation. The other signs in with their own account and opens the link. Before starting, check the two player names and the room status together; opening the public online queue separately does not put you in that private table. If the original room has closed, create a fresh duel and share its new invitation. Once the match begins, each player builds their own hand during the draw phase and bids independently.
